The first casualty
Yesterday, the first real casualty hit on my decision to leave IT Matters and to be 100% open on this, I really was expecting it to happen. My HTG group decided to retain IT Matters as the member company and rightfully so, it is the company that belongs to the peer group and not me, I was just the representative. So congrats to them for making the same decision that I would have made.
Last evening, my good friends Erik, Ricky and new comer Brett (who works with Mike at Syand) and I went for a cruise around Hollywood, our search for the Hollywood sign in the darkness of the Hollywood Hills was exciting and a blast. It was great to laugh like that with the boys and enjoy their company. We also cruised around Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Strip (which is one of my favourites) and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. I truly enjoy every chance to spend time in Southern California. It is a true shame that HTG will not be travelling around North America anymore on the regular basis, it is this sort of stuff that really excites me. Sure the boardroom stuff is important however being a relationship guy, getting out afterwards is much better.
I am looking forward to my family arriving today and spending time with them this weekend around Southern California. My good friend Erick Simpson is collecting them at the airport for the ride to Burbank. This is a great example of being a Go-Giver. Erick is taking time out of his day to pick up Janet and the boys at the airport at LAX and then driving them to Burbank. Thanks Erick for doing this, it is truly appreciated.
Also, last night IT Matters won the Microsoft IMPACT award for the best Networking solution in Canada this year. This was an award that they were nominated for every year for the past 3 or 4 years and it is great that they finally won it. So congrats to the team there for this great award and I can finally say that we won that one.
I am not in very much of a writing mood today so I will sign off for today. You know sometimes we just have down days, today is a sad day for me being the last day with HTG3 and seeing some of these great people.
