A Day in Washington, DC

This is my second time in DC this year.  I was chatting with my good friend Dave Sobel (the king of virtualization) last night here at the Gaylord Resort & Convention Center about coming to DC.  Up until June of this year I have never been to DC and now twice in one year.  It is truly amazing how the powers of the universe and the power of God makes things happen.  I needed to be here last night, that was very clear at the end of the evening.

Arnie Bellini, Dave Sobel, Clint Gatewood and Todd Crystal

A great example of that is this, I have been wanting to chat with my good buddy Clint Gatewood for a while about some backup strategies and low and behold, guess who crashes our Tech Select Canada party last night.  The man himself, Clint Gatewood.  For those who don’t know Clint, he is very well respected in the Managed Services world for his work at Zenith Infotech.  I managed to have an awesome chat with Clint about online backup and the entire managed services world.

I also had a chance to speak with Arnie Bellini from ConnectWise as well.  Arnie is a great guy, so you see it pays to come out to events with a mindset of people that you want to meet.  I am very blessed to have an awesome network of people who are here to help me out no matter what I choose to do.  That message was very clear to me last night.

Pretty uneventful flight from Calgary to Washington (Reagan) yesterday.  Flew on Northwest Airlines through Minneapolis.  Not much happening and the flights were pretty full but quiet.  Just the way I like it.  Tonight I turn around and head to Burbank, California for my HTG meetings on Thursday and Friday.  Mr. Jetsetter, criss crossing the United States this week.  Those that know me best know that I love this though and I look forward to linking up with my buddies from across the world.

I really don’t have much to add, well maybe one thing…

Thanks to all of you who are sending me emails with your support and prayers as I venture onto Stuart Crawford Version 3.0 over the next little while.  The future is not 100% crystal clear yet, but it is getting clearer and clearer every day.  Thanks to my buddies at TechSelect for all your support and words of encouragment yesterday as we spoke one on one about the future.  Thanks to my good buddy Ernie Sherman, it is great to know that I have you in my corner Ernie…you are one of the reasons I stay in the this business.
